In a move full of curiosities, TV medical guru Dr. Mehmet Oz suddenly quit his show to put all his efforts into running as a Republican for a U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania.
Even more curious than the 15 minutes’ notice Oz gave his staff of his intention to quit is the fact that he’s not a resident of Pennsylvania. However, he did register to vote in Pennsylvania, in 2021, using his in-laws’ address.
The reason he gave his staff for his sudden decision was that he feels “a patriotic duty to embark on this journey.” He added: “I can no longer witness the suffering and anger of our countrymen from the safety of our studio.”
