Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel has told The Economic Times that he believes the pandemic will be over in “the middle of next year” — in other words, mid-2022, or another year.
Bancel cited the availability of children’s vaccines, including infants’, as a key to ending COVID-19. Industrywide production expansions and booster shots will help, too, he said.
And, for those who aren’t vaccinated, they “will immunize themselves naturally, because the Delta variant is so contagious. In this way we will end up in a situation similar to that of the flu. You can either get vaccinated and have a good winter. Or you don’t do it and risk getting sick and possibly even ending up in hospital,” he said.
